Remember how I said I would update this blog more often? Yeah, I dont remember either. I finally pulled the trigger on ordering the final chunk of parts needed to get the car on the road. Doesnt seem like much, but it add's up right quick. Consisting of the following..

Chasebays brake line relocation kit
DIF clutch line
DIF turbo oil/coolant lines

Brian Crower adjustable cam gears (to get rid of VTC)

Started off assembling the engine with the help of Greg. Head gasket installed..

Thats where I left off till I get the timing chain and cam gears in. So in the mean time its time for engine bay prep. Started off by removing useless brackets and random shit bolted in the engine bay, like this plate for the intercooler piping.

Always wanted to know what was underneath...oh jolly...

Also took the liberty of trimming seam sealer. I realised that this is a stupid method and will be using a grinder/wirewheel to remove the rest tonight, will post pictures of the progress ASAP

The Wiring specialties main harness came in as well, I am amazed at how well it is put together and look forward to installing it in my car! Its going to look great.

And I'll leave it off at a sneak peak of the new color ;)

Hey everyone!
I can now officially say I have a built head! A dream def becoming a reality for me!
I'm at the point where I'm contemplating getting bigger cams, but bigger cams will need me to get a tune, if I want a tune, I better get bigger injectors, turbo, etc etc. No! I want to drive the friggin thing, so I'll stick with stock cams for now, and deal with that shit at a later date!

Hey everyone! It sure has been a long time since I last posted on this blog, mainly due to having another blog which I shut down due to it not being everything I imagined it to be, so Im back to the simple blogger and carrying on!

Update on the car? Yeah it still doesn't run. Slowly in the past few months I have done a few things to get it ready to be back on the road, but with a recent knee surgery, the last few months have been a write off.

During the winter, I bought myself an S14 SR20DET w/ T28

There was red alarms going off everywhere saying I should not buy this engine. Permatex silcone everywhere, engine caked in oil, etc etc, but I bought it anyways considering I was getting a deal from a friend. Didn't work out to well for me. Since everything was leaking, I decided to order a full re seal kit, and Apex-i headgasket, no big deal. Right?

Wrongzorz. Pulled the head off to do the headgasket and to my surprise, the exhaust valves on cyl 4 where completely clean as compared to the rest, and had little chunks of valve missing. I currently dont have a pic to show that though.

After consulting with a few friends, we deemed a head rebuilt would be best instead of replacing just two valves and half assing shit.

So moving forward, I have currently purchased some cool valve train components consisting simply of:
Brian Crower springs and titanium retainers
Brian Crower stainless steel valves
OEM keepers
Jim Wolf Technologies brass valve guides

and a couple other things that I currently dont remember. Today I sent the cylinder head off to get rebuilt, should be getting that back in a few weeks which I def look forward to.

In april, Dan, Andrew & I pulled the engine out of the ol' lady, which was a pain in the ass due to it being cold, me being a whiny bitch because it was cold, and the seal on the engine hoist blowing out, which lifted the engine JUST enough to go over the rad support (with a little bit of man handling from Dan & Andrew).

After finally being pulled, I stripped out the ABS unit, and marked "X"s on the holes which I plan on covering up if I get my hands on a welder. If not, I guess I will be just painting over it and moving on

That is basically where I am at with the car, I hope with the next few weeks I shall be more proactive in posting and working on the car!

Pegasus headlights!!! I've been wanting these for so long.
Essentially what they are, are TSX projectors, retrofitted into h4 housings. Also comes with 6000K HID's.

Well, its that time of year again, the 240 goes under the knife for its new heart.
While its getting that new heart, I plan to clean up that engine bay.
I recently found on zilvia.net, ChaseBays. The solution to all my issues.

I have an ABS unit that does Jack shit, power steering setup that leaks, dying clutch damper box...and a shoddy engine harness.

Time to make the Engine bay look as good as the exterior of the car.
I plan to shave unnecessary holes, tuck random wires, and paint the engine bay the exterior color.

This is where ChaseBay's comes into play. Once the parts come in, I shall take pictures to show.

As of currently, this is how the 240 sits, stripped and cold.

End of summer

Havent updated in a while. Figured its time.
Well, I havent driven the car since basically July. It is confirmed that the engine has rod knock, time for a new bottom end.

I was approached by a couple of photoG friends, came into talks of taking shots of my car, how can any one resist, i said eh, ill drive on the broken motor since its going to be replaced anyways, and went for some pictures. Here is the turn out, thanks to Jeff Chin and Josh Legault!!!!

Well. Tried to install the manifold. Doesn't line up with half the studs on the head. I guess that's what happens when you get crazy deals on exhaust manifolds. Went back to my stock manifold. Bolted everything back up, changed the oil, primed, and she fired up to her usual beautiful engine tone. Took it for a drive, car drove mint. Pulled over, checked if everything was good, no leaks, etc...and went on my merry way.

As usual. That's where things got shitty. Hit 13lbs of boost, and look in my rear view mirror..all I see is smoke. First thing I thought, ah just a head gasket, no big deal, but it smelled like oil, pull into the driveway...engine starts knocking....we will leave it at that until further dianosis.

After almost a month of humming and hawing over fixing the car for the rest of the season, I finally decided to work on the car last night. Pulled the old blown turbo in under an hour, you know your getting good at doing that when.....? lol.

New parts include:
Isis tubular manifold ... ive had this sitting in my room for 9 months now lol.
DIF oil/coolant lines for the turbo.
used stock T25...painted...purple?

In the time frame that my car was down for the count, I decided to purchase a vehicle for daily driving.

DMCC PRO-AM weekend

Hey All.
So, this weekend will go down in 240 history for me. My first Amateur drift competition at Castrol Raceway just 10 mins south of Edmonton. Drift Mania!!!

A special thanks goes out to alll my friends and family that showed up this weekend to support me, it meant alot :)

Started off bright and early Saturday morning with my Team "Sour Kraut Speed Shop".
Which consisted of my two mechanics: Jason Schneider & Greg Rego, My camera girl: Jamie Wilkinson and well... MEEE!!!

Pulled into castrol raceway right before 10am, went to the drivers meeting, got teched..and failed. Needed to bolt down the battery box better, dump all my coolant and run straight water amongst other things. Within 10mins, Greg and Jason had the car ready to go, and I was off to my first practice run. That posed rather interesting, considering I just mounted grippy tires up front and poopy linglong tires in the rear...the car sucked. As shown below

Tweaked the camber a bit, played with the dampers as well, then I was off for my second run.

Car was responding to the tweaks great. The driver wasn't, I was getting super nervous, and after that run, decided to get some food in me and go out for another run!

Feeling more confident that I was getting my entry down, it was now time to focus on linking the rest of the course.....

YESSSSSSS....Final practice run of the morning I was finally able to link the course. By this time it was noon, and we had a two hour break before qualifying started. Which gave the boys plenty time to look over the car, made sure everything was nice and tight in the suspenion, slapped on a brand new set of tires in the rear...and waited.

Qualifying came around...I did no less then go balls to the wall, as I always say "Go big, or go home"

Unreal run!! Aside from my spin out, It was said by the announcer, that of the day, at that time I had the fastest entry and best angle on entry. Here is when things got shitty......

Transitioning upon entry, the car lost all grip and I spun, due to me dumping all my oil, soon as i got out of my spin, my oil light went on...and I killed the car, I should have coasted off the track, but I did the opposite and the whole track was covered in oil....cause a 45 min delay due to clean up. Whoops. Sorry guys! Note to self, dont use sr20DE oil filters on a DET car. Yep, you guessed it, my oil filter blew off! Never ever heard of that happening before. Had to do the tow of shame back to the pits where Team Sour Kraut had the car back up and running in 1hr only to find out I had blew my turbo from oil starvation.

No big deal, I found out at that point I was sitting in 9th place outta 26 which I was ecstatic about. After they had cleaned up the track and had the rest of the drivers qualify their second runs, I was sitting at a happy 12th place.

With my turbo completly blown and eating oil, I decided to try to finish the night off with no boost. The car was soo under powered, I couldnt even get to the top of second gear before entry, which sealed my fate for the night.

In the end, I had a blast, disappointing that the turbo went bye bye, but will never forget this day!! Matt Haase was nice enough to trailer my car home so that saved me alot of head ache!!!

Sorry folks, I know many of you have been hounding me for an update on the car, been too busy enjoying the car rather than updating the blog :P

So the car is now painted, which turned out beautiful. Credit goes to Wafaa for picking out the awesome color. Got some new wheels with flush fitment, not the best wheels but they do the trick for now. They are 5zigen FN01r-C's ... (who thought of that name? Seriously).. 17x9 +15, & 17x10 +25. Still hoping to run into a nice set of Work Eurolines down the road. Still need to adjust the coilovers up front as the car looks like it has a reverse rake going on and run some proper tires. Right now I just grabbed some random junkies from my garage... 215/47/17 upfront and 235/45/17 in the rear

Doesnt look to bad eh? Here are some absolutely amazing shots by Sam McCargar that he took for me on our way to Calgary for the car show, mind the plastic wrapping on the front bumper, that was to prevent rockchips and bug splatters on the way there :)

I couldnt resist my passion, I took the car drifting, and DAMN does the car look great when its sideways, thanks to Travis Clark of Presidential Drift for lending me drift spares to have some fun with, also managed to shear the mount off my intercooler which he welded up and returned back to me within a day!

Not much at all. Quite depressing if you ask me.
I finally got off my lazy ass and bought a few pieces to complete my aero kit which I have been fitting lately.
Also I had a new custom high pressure line installed on my car ... = NO MORE LEAKS!!!!! Common issue on sr20det swaps into 240sx.

So Here is my summer in a whirl wind of pictures and videos, the car performed flawlessly throughout the season, only issues I had was a rubber cap on the IC piping that kept blowing off, and a broken tie rod!

Running a 14.0 at 103.7 MPH

Getting a hang of the car....spinning like no tommorrow, due to me trying to initiate drift via e-brake

After watching many you tube videos, i attempted clutch kicking...what a difference

But still kept spinning out

Alright, so its April, everything is on the car, ready to rock and roll.....no. Car still ran like poop, I ran out of ideas on what the issue could be, took it to my good friends at Project Omega, and they were able to find out my fuel pump was failing...thats what it was this whole dyam time. Replaced it with a Walbro 255LPH pump and some NGK iridium spark plugs... No more misfire, and the car had this sudden burst of power... I was all smiles from ear to ear from here on in...summers here, drift practice is starting soon...time to get fired up!!!!

So spring was approaching, I tottally forgot about the most important thing since my 5 lug conversion....5 lug wheels!! Dammit! Luckly I had a friend with some decent RAYS 5 lug wheels, not the greatest offset, but they would do the trick

So winter came around, I had no idea what I wanted to do to the car. So I started browsing forsale threads on forums for things that really appealed to my eye. First things first, I needed tires for the season, what perfect timing, a local tire distributor in town was liquidating their tires as they were shutting down. I capitalized on that and purchased 14 215/45/r17 tires .. yea thats right 14!! It was nice to know that I wouldnt have to worry about buying tires all season long.

Other stuff that I purchased over the winter were as follows:

So after I bought the car, as i said in a previous post, the car ran terrible, it misfired, had a huge exhaust leak, turbo gasket blown, and so on, yet I saw potential in this car. So I was able to replace the turbo gaskets, fix the exhaust leak, and slightly fix the misfire, yet the car had no balls at all, turbo spooled nicely but it just did not perform like how an sr20det should. At the time, I didnt care all too much, I just wanted to drive it before it got parked for the winter!

17x7 Tenzo wheels with like +35 offset(yuck) and 205/40/17 Yoko Parada Spec 2 tires.

Lets just say with the sloppy suspension and sticky tires along side the fact the car had no power...it made it a very crummy car to drive. I guess at the time I had alot to learn about drifting and car control as you can see below, this was at the first drift practice I took it to

So literally two weeks after pulling my engine out of the car in hopes of droping in a SR20DET, I was presented with a rather amazing deal (or so at the time) of an 93 s13 coupe. It had all the bell's and whistles that I wanted and then some. It is an LE so its loaded with leather and HUD ... and the kicker...NO RUST :D ... I had to buy it. So I did.

It was my girlfriends brother's car at the time, he had placed a SR20DET in replacement of the old tired engine that was in it before. Only down fall of this beautiful car was the dented rear right quarter panel and the engine ran like poop!

I started off with a 1992 Nissan 240sx SE Hatchback back in Oct/2007. Basically bonestock other than a mess of amp wiring, lowering springs and a cold air intake.
Here is a picture from the orginal forsale ad!

I daily drove this from oct 07 to april 08 while I was in college. It was the most reliable and funnest ( is that even a word?) vehicle I have owned in winter!! Once I finished at NAIT, my parents assisted me (as a grad gift) in purchasing in a 2004 Acura TSX as shown below ... so that I could finally start my "project drift" on my s13 like I dreamed about
...and where it ended up a year and a half later... but we will save that story for another day.

So anyways, I decided to do a few useless mods.

OEM sideskirts, Zenki front lip. St.May 3" cat back and went to town...

Let it be known..I was HORRIBLE at drifting, having blown kyb struts, front winter tires and random tires in the rear turned out to be a major failage!!!

So figured it was time to stop driving on the underpowered KA24DE .. I pulled the motor and was planning on removing everything... abs, cruise control, A/C.
